3/2/24 –  On Saturday March 2nd, the Village Baptist Church at 131 Broadway in Fort Edward, will hold a takeout only ham dinner from 3:30 to 5:45pm. Dinner will consist of ham with raisin sauce, mashed potatoes, corn, applesauce, cole slaw, rolls, and cake for dessert.  Cost is adults including senior citizens $13.00.  Children under 5 and seniors over 90 are free.  Reservations are needed.  Call 518-747-5996 and leave your name, telephone number, number of dinners you’d like to purchase, and the time you would like to pick them up.  Someone will call you back.  The dinner will benefit the Summer Lunch Program

3/5/24 –  The Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District is now taking orders for their 2024 tree and shrub sale. More than 30 different tree and shrub species will be available during this year’s sale. New varieties such as peach and service berries have been added talong with popular apple tree varieties, red spruce, white oak, arrow wood and others. 3/6/24 – On Wednesday March 6th, the Chapman Historical Museum will hold a family craft program, “Bookmarks for Read Across America Week” from 4 to 5pm.  Participants can decorate bookmarks using stamps, markers, stickers, and more.  The program is free but requires a reservation. To register, call 518-793-2826. Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required.

3/6/24 –  On Thursday March 7th, the Chapman Historical Museum presents, “Painting with Patrice, Springtime on Lake George” from 6 to 8pm. Patrice Jarvis-Weber will help you step by step to create a painting to take home. Learn to mix blues and greens to paint a view of Lake George and practice various brushstrokes using vibrant colors across the mountains and on the lake. The workshop is open to all artistic abilities and ages and all supplies are included. This program is limited to 10 participants.  Cost is $25.00 for Chapman Members and $30.00 for everyone else.  Payment is required at the time of registration.  To register, call 518-793-2826.

3/9/24 On Saturday March 9th, Up Yonda Farm on Route 9N in Bolton Landing will celebrate the sweet season by holding its fourth annual Maple Festival.  During Maple Festival, Up Yonda Farm naturalists will lead tours along the property’s Sugar Trail observing the sugar bush, sap collection and sugar house. Stops will include explanation of the history and science of maple sugaring and end with a taste of golden, amber, and dark maple syrup served with French toast stick dippers!  Tours start every 30 minutes from 9:30am to 12:00pm.and from 1 to 2:00pm.  Tickets are $5.00 per person and there is also a $5.00 per vehicle day use parking fee.  For more informationvisit : www dot up yonda farm dot com.

3/9/24 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks is holding their annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake at Kingpin’s Alley in South Glens Falls March 15th, 16th, and 17th.  Supporters form a team of at least (4) members and raise funds all in support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  Participants receive two games of bowling, event T-shirt, food, and drinks. 3/11/24 –  On Monday March 11th, the Warren County Historical Society will hold a lecture focusing on the remarkable life and legacy of Dr. Joseph Warren, a pivotal figure in the American Revolution. The lecture will be presented by Dr. Stan Cianfarano and Teri Rogers and  takes place from 6 to 7:30pm at the Queensbury Masonic Historical Society, 15 Burke Drive in Queensbury.  Admission is free. Seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged. 3/11/24 –  On Saturday March 16th, the Bolton Central School PTO will hold its March Madness basketball tournament in the Bolton Central School Gymnasium. It will be a double or single elimination event, depending on the number of teams that participate.  The tournament is open to all adults and local businesses. The maximum number of players per team is 8. The first 16 teams to respond will earn a spot.  Registration deadline is Monday March 11th. The fee to participate is $325 per team (tee shirts included) and can be paid via cash or check (payable to Bolton Central School PTO.) Payment and registration form should be submitted by mail or dropped off at the Bolton Central School main office. 3/29/24 – Remote Area Medical, a major nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, quality dental, vision and medical care to those in need  is seeking volunteer medical, dental and vision professionals and general support staff for its April 6th and 7th clinic at Hudson Falls High School at 80 East Labarge Street.  RAM is also in need of general support volunteers to help set up on Friday, April 5th and take down on the 7th. Overnight parking volunteers to greet patients are also needed, and interpreters can volunteer to aid patients through the process, either in the parking lot or during clinic operations. Individuals do not need to work in the medical field to volunteer as general support. 4/19/24 – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Warren and Washington Counties will be offering “PS:  It Works! Parenting Program” on five consecutive Wednesdays beginning April 24, 2024, from 12 noon to 1:30pm via Zoom. This free program is designed for parents/caregivers with children from toddlers to teens who want to learn how to help guide the children in their care in a supportive way.  Basic parenting skills will be explored in this fun, interactive class. TFN –  THE CLOTHING DONATION SHED OF BOY SCOUT TROOP 56 IN HUDSON FALLS IS OPEN AND LOCATED AT THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH AT 9 RIVER STREET.  THE TROOP ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CLEAN AND WELL CARED FOR PRE-OWNED CLOTHING.  ACCEPTED ITEMS ARE CLOTHING, SHOES, BELTS, PURSES, BLANKETS, SHEETS, CURTAINS, PILLOWCASES, AND STUFFED ANIMALS.  THE TROOP RECEIVES FUNDING FOR THE DONATIONS AND HAS THE OPTION TO USE DONATIONS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AS WELL.
