6/20/24 – On Friday June 21st, the Chapman Historical Museum in Glens Falls hold its next walking tour of Glens Falls at 11am.  “Behind the Business” highlights some of the lesser-known Glens Falls businesses on the west side of the downtown business district from the 1860s to the 1950s. Participants can park at the Chapman Museum in the lot behind the Museum off Bacon Street.  Tours are $15.00 per person or $10.00 for Chapman members. Payment is required at time of registration. 6/24/24 – Local residents can improve their career skills for free thanks to a schedule of online workshops offered during the month of June through the Warren County Career Center and their Capital Region Career Centers partners.  The staff at the Warren County Department of Workforce Development/Career Center have worked with their counterparts around the Capital Region to put together these workshops that focus on assisting job seekers in bettering their career outlook.  Registration is required.  To sign up go online at www dot warren county ny dot gov backslash employment training.  The schedule of June workshops are as followed. 6/24/24 – Through the end of June, the Lake George Battlefield Park Visitor Center located on the bottom floor of 75 Fort George Road in Lake George, will be open weekends from 10am to 4pm.  The Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance will hold free 1-hour tours of the park’s historic grounds each Saturday at 11am.  The tours begin and conclude at the Visitor Center. 6/29/24 –  On Saturday June 29th, the Chapman Historical Museum will be holding a summer garden party on the Chapman lawn from  1 to 3pm.  Celebrate the start of summer and the beauty of the museum’s green spaces. Stop by for lawn games and refreshments, while exploring the beautiful Chapman gardens with local gardening expert Ronn Mattia as your guide.  Admission is free and is weather permitting.

7/1/24 – On Tuesday July 2nd the Chapman Historical Museum in Glens Falls presents “Story Time at the Museum” at 10am.  Join the Chapman for a reading of, “Those Rebels, John & Tom” a tale of two American Revolution heroes by Barbara Kerley.  After the story, get creative and color flags to celebrate the 4th of July!  This program is intended for children ages 5-9 but is open to all. Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required. This program is free and does not require registration.

7/3/24 –  On Wednesday July 3rd, join the Chapman Historical Museum in Crandall Park from 5:30 to 7:30pm to create patriotic wind catchers using paper plates, streamers, and glue.  This program is part of the Youth Arts Experience 2024. The Chapman, along with other local organizations, will have tables set up with crafts for children and families to complete before the Glens Falls Symphony’s Summer Pops Concert and Fireworks at 7:30pm

7/13/24 – On Saturday July 13th, Warren County Public Health will be holding a rabies clinic at the Chester Fire House from 10am to Noon. No appointment is necessary and you don’t have to be a Warren County Resident to attend. Please have dogs on a leash; and cats or ferrets in carrier. A $10.00 donation is requested for each pet but no one is turned away due to financial hardship. 7/28/24 – The Granville Lions Club will hold its annual summer furniture sale at the Lions’ warehouses, located behind the post office on Main Street. TFN –  THE CLOTHING DONATION SHED OF BOY SCOUT TROOP 56 IN HUDSON FALLS IS OPEN AND LOCATED AT THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH AT 9 RIVER STREET.  THE TROOP ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CLEAN AND WELL CARED FOR PRE-OWNED CLOTHING.  ACCEPTED ITEMS ARE CLOTHING, SHOES, BELTS, PURSES, BLANKETS, SHEETS, CURTAINS, PILLOWCASES, AND STUFFED ANIMALS.  THE TROOP RECEIVES FUNDING FOR THE DONATIONS AND HAS THE OPTION TO USE DONATIONS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AS WELL.
