5/3/24 – The Granville Lions Club will hold its annual summer furniture sale beginning Friday May 3rd.  The sale takes place at the Lions’ warehouses, located behind the post office on Main Street. Hours are Fridays from 5 to 8pm; and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm each weekend through August.  Proceeds from the summer-long sale provide funding for the many projects and beneficiaries of the Granville Lions Club.  For updated information on the sale, check the Granville Lions Club on Facebook or online at: Granville lions club dot com.

5/3/24 –   On Saturday May 4th, Warren County Public Health will be holding their first rabies clinic at the Queensbury Community Center from 10am to Noon. No appointment is necessary and you don’t have to be a Warren County resident to attend. Please have dogs on a leash and cats or ferrets in carrier. A $10.00 donation is requested for each pet but no one is turned away due to financial hardship. 5/4/24 –   On Saturday May 4th, the Grassland Bird Trust is hosting its 2024 Raptor Fest on from 2 to 5pm on the grounds of the Little Theater on the Farm in Fort Edward. This year’s event will be held rain or shine and includes: a live bird demonstration with birds in flight by  Trish Marki.  Presentation on grassland birds by Arabella Pajoohi; and Joseph Bruchac, Native American poet, storyteller, and author who will describe the deep connection between humans and the feathered beings around us

5/4/24 –  On Saturday May 4th, the Little Theater on the Farm on Plum Road in Fort Edward presents the High Peaks Bluegrass Band. 5/4/24 – On Saturday May 4th, the Village Baptist Church at 131 Broadway in Fort Edward will be holding a take out only Chicken and Biscuit Dinner from 3:30 to 5:45pm  Dinner will consist of : Chicken and Biscuits, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Cranberry Sauce, rolls and dessert.  Cost is $13.00 and free for children under 5 and seniors over 90.  To reserve your dinner, please call 518-747-5996, and leave your name, phone number, number of dinners and the time you would like to pick up, and someone will get back to you.  This months’ dinner benefits the Send a Kid to Camp Fund.

5/7/24 – On Wednesday May 8th, the Chapman Historical Museum presents, Conversations with the Past, “Women in Revolutionary War Programming” at 7pm.  Speakers will be Lauren Agnello, historic interpreter, Anne Clothier, Director of Education at the Brookside Museum, and Sara Evenson, Doctoral Candidate as they present a panel discussion on Revolutionary War women’s impressions and programming from their unique perspectives. 5/8/24 – Registration is open for Warren County’s next household hazardous waste collection event, on Saturday, May 11th. Warren County residents who would like to get rid of hazardous materials such as cleaners, pesticides and other household chemicals, can do so at no charge at the Queensbury Highway Department, 742 Bay Road, Queensbury, from 8am to 12pm.  Residents who sign up will be able to safely dispose of materials such as antifreeze, pesticides, gasoline, latex paints, household cleaners and fluorescent light bulbs at no cost at this household hazardous waste drop off event.  Register online at warren county ny dot gov/residents/waste, by mail or in person at the Warren County DPW, 4028 Main Street, Warrensburg, New York, 12885, or by fax at 518-623-2772.  More information about household hazardous waste storage and disposal can be found at warren county ny dot gov/residents/waste-info. 5/11/24 – On Saturday May 11th, the Warren County Fish Hatchery at 145 Echo Lake Road in Warrensburg will hold its “Spring Zing” open house and fishing clinic from 9:30am to 2pm. It’s a day of fish-themed fun, with clinics, prizes, demonstrations, free food and other activities. Tours of the trout-rearing operation at the hatchery will be offered. 5/31/24 – Tri-County Literacy Center will hold their art show fundraiser, “Celebrating the Art of Community” during the month of May in the Friends Gallery on the second floor of Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls.  All works have been created by local artists. The pieces encompass a wide range of styles, subjects, and media. TFN –  THE CLOTHING DONATION SHED OF BOY SCOUT TROOP 56 IN HUDSON FALLS IS OPEN AND LOCATED AT THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH AT 9 RIVER STREET.  THE TROOP ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CLEAN AND WELL CARED FOR PRE-OWNED CLOTHING.  ACCEPTED ITEMS ARE CLOTHING, SHOES, BELTS, PURSES, BLANKETS, SHEETS, CURTAINS, PILLOWCASES, AND STUFFED ANIMALS.  THE TROOP RECEIVES FUNDING FOR THE DONATIONS AND HAS THE OPTION TO USE DONATIONS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AS WELL.
