9/12/25 – Tickets are now available for Warren/Hamilton Counties Office for the Aging’s annual Senior Fall Festival, to be held on Thursday, September 25th at the Warren County Fish Hatchery Park in Warrensburg.   There will be games, door prizes and informational booths staffed by local organizations, including the staff from Warren County Public Health offering blood pressure checks and health-related information and giveaways.  The festival will start at 10am, with coffee, tea and refreshments, followed by a lunch of hamburgers, three-bean salad, macaroni salad, and strawberry shortcake at 12pm in the park’s pavilion and day use area.  Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at any senior meal site in Warren or Hamilton counties, or at the Warren County Office for the Aging office, 1340 Route 9, in Queensbury.  Tickets must be purchased by Friday, September 12th.  For more information, call Office for the Aging at 518-761-6347.

9/13/25 –  ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH, THE FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF LAKE LUZERNE AT 24 MAIN STREET WILL HOLD ITS CHURCH MOUSE VENDOR FAIR AND “LICK’ IN CHICKEN” CHICKEN BARBECUE FROM 9AM TO 3PM ON THE PARSONAGE LAWN.  WITH MUSIC FROM THE BARED NAKED BEARS FROM 10AM TO 2PM.

9/13/25 – ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH, THE HARTFORD YOKED PARISH CHURCH LOCATED AT ROUTES 40 AND GILCHRIST HILL ROAD WILL HOLD ITS FALL FESTIVAL FROM 9AM TO 4PM.  FEATURING VENDORS, A BASKET PARTY, CRAFTS, LUNCH AND PIES FOR SALE.

9/13/25 –  On Saturday September 13th, Warren County Public Health will be holding a rabies clinic at the Queensbury Community Center at 742 Bay Road from 10am to Noon. No appointment is necessary and you don’t have to be a Warren County resident to attend. Please have dogs on a leash and cats or ferrets in a carrier. A $10.00 donation is requested for each pet but no one is turned away due to financial hardship. 9/13/25 – On Saturday September 13th, a “Whole Body Wellness Day” with free mind-body-spirit demo classes and services will take place from 10am to 4pm at Crandall Park in Glens Falls

9/13/25 – On Saturday September 13th, the Friends of Moreau Lake State Park will be holding its Nature Fest from 11am to 3:30pm.  Admission will be free and this fun-filled day of interactive nature related activities will include live animals, educational booths, rescue organizations, wagon rides and music.  Fun crafts and activities for the kids like birdhouse building, face painting, pumpkin painting and much more.  The Friends Group will have food, baked goods and a silent auction with proceeds benefiting the non-profit’s support of the park, through various educational programs and other activities.  For more information visit their website: www dot  friends of moreau lake dot org.

9/16/25 –  On Thursday September 18th, the Chapman Museum will  be holding a fall Gnome Workshop from 6 to 8pm. Led by Laura Havens of Nooke of Gnomes and More,  participants at the workshop will use an assortment of materials, such as socks, sand, stuffing, faux fur, Styrofoam cones, fabric hats, a variety of trinkets and whatnots for decorations, all put together with love, patience, and hot glue to create their own Gnome. The program is $50.00 per participant; or $45.00 for Chapman Members. Payment is required at the time of registration. All materials will be provided. 9/16/25 – On Wednesday September 17th, the Chapman Museum will hold a presentation “Great Fires in Glens Falls” at 7pm.  Retired Assistant Chief John Ellingsworth will explore the history of the Glens Falls Fire Department. Discover how firefighting equipment evolved over the years and hear about the major fires that have occurred within the city.  The program is free for Chapman members; or $10.00 for non-members. 9/26/25 – On Saturday September 27th, Chapman Museum’s annual Cemetery Tour returns this year at the Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street from 10am to 1pm.  Step back in time as local actors bring to life the remarkable stories of James Coclanis, Nellie Pruyn Cunningham & Charlotte Pruyn Hyde, Zopher & Catherine DeLong,  Alonzo Morgan, Earnest Parham Jr., and Helen Potter Stoddard. 9/30/25 – The Chapman Museum is excited to announce the return of its popular Chapman Challenge, first launched in 2021 to encourage community members and visitors alike to explore the history and hidden gems of the Glens Falls–Queensbury region. The Chapman Challenge invites participants to complete 20 out of 38 unique challenges, each highlighting a piece of local history, culture, or community life—from historic markers and monuments to ghost signs and neighborhood landmarks. The final mission is a visit to the Chapman Museum itself, where participants can register their achievement and be recognized with an official finisher number.  Participants can pick up a checklist at the Chapman Museum or download it at www dot chapman museum dot org.  After completing 19 sites, challengers finish at the DeLong House marker outside the Chapman Museum before handing in their form.

11/1/25 –  Through Sunday November 2nd, The Stoddard Gallery at the Chapman Museum in Glens Falls presents, “A Good Catch” featuring photographs taken by Seneca Ray Stoddard on a visit to the Richelieu River in Québec with its deep historical ties to trade, transport, and conflict, and rich fishing grounds for species like northern pike, bass, and walleye.  For more information visit the Chapman’s website at www dot chapman museum dot org.

TFN – FOOD FOR THOUGHT IS AN INITIATIVE THAT GETS FOOD TO THOSE WHO NEED IT IN OUR LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN WARREN AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES.  THE CURRENT NEED IS APPROXIMATELY 11 THOUSAND SNACKS PER MONTH IN 14 LOCAL DISTRICTS.  DONATIONS OF SNACKS CAN BE MADE AT HILLTOP CONSTRUCTION 21 CASEY ROAD IN QUEENSBURY OR O’BRIEN INSURANCE ON BAY STREET IN GLENS FALLS.  SNACK DONATIONS IDEAS ARE BAGS OF PRETZELS AND GOLD FISH, GRANOLA BARS, AND APPLE SAUCE POUCHES.  MONETARY DONATIONS MADE PAYABLE TO O’BRIEN’S ANGELS ARE ALSO ACCEPTED.

TFN – The Chapman Museum in Glens Falls offers guided tours every Thursday from 1 to 2pm year-round.  Tours are included with regular museum admission, museum members are free.  Admission is a suggested donation of $10.00 for adults; and $7.00 for seniors and students.  Veterans, active-duty military, and children under 12 are free. TFN –  THE CLOTHING DONATION SHED OF BOY SCOUT TROOP 56 IN HUDSON FALLS IS OPEN AND LOCATED AT THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH AT 9 RIVER STREET.  THE TROOP ACCEPTS DONATIONS OF CLEAN AND WELL CARED FOR PRE-OWNED CLOTHING.  ACCEPTED ITEMS ARE CLOTHING, SHOES, BELTS, PURSES, BLANKETS, SHEETS, CURTAINS, PILLOWCASES, AND STUFFED ANIMALS.  THE TROOP RECEIVES FUNDING FOR THE DONATIONS AND HAS THE OPTION TO USE DONATIONS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY AS WELL.
